Did you know ‘Virtual Assistant UK jobs’ has been searched for 2900 times in the last month! 2900 times!
With the shift to working from home online over the last two years, I am seeing more and more Virtual Assistant jobs being advertised by businesses as employed roles. This really is fantastic progression for a previously unknown profession! No one even knew what a Virtual Assistant was when I started seven years ago!
However whilst these newly available ’employed’ Virtual Assistant jobs will offer stability, the flexibility isn’t going to be there. Historically speaking Virtual Assistants are freelancers and this is how the vast majority operate. Instead of having a Virtual Assistant job, Virtual Assistants will have their own self-employed business and work for a number of clients. This is also the reason why I set up my Virtual Assistant business, so I could work from home online flexibly around my family.
So how do you find clients?
So this is the big one isn’t it – the holy grail – how to find those clients, which seem so elusive at first.
I am going to lay all my cards on the table here and say that I don’t think there is a one-size-fits-all approach. I would go as far as to say I am skeptical of all these online ‘signature programmes’ and mentoring schemes promising the world. You have seen the ones I mean. “Follow this approach and see your first 5k month in 6 weeks”.
I have been around long enough to know this just isn’t how it works. Being self-employed is hard work and I have had some ups and downs with my business. However I am well-established enough now in my space to be turning work down because I am fully booked consistently. I find myself in a position to be able to pass on my advice to Virtual Assistants to be, or those feeling a bit ‘stuck’.
Listen up – real life advice incoming!
Basically, I just want to help because I have been where you are now. Feeling overwhelmed, and not sure how much longer I can keep going on so little work.
So no promises of ‘blueprints to launch’ or ‘10k months’ like you see from so many online coaches. Just someone who has been there and has real, solid advice. Advice that you can literally start implementing immediately if you wish!
My new book – ‘Don’t just sit there, start finding clients; 8 actionable strategies from a Virtual Assistant’ aims to give you just that. From leveraging social media to ‘networking’ in a productive way, I explore the eight different approaches that have got me fully booked. I hope that by the end of this book you will have some fresh ideas on how and where to find clients for your own Virtual Assistant business! No more searching and scrolling Virtual Assistant jobs!
